Time 2,5-3 hours. Departure from Forca di Presta at 1534 m.(reachable from Pretare, Castelluccio di Norcia or Balzo di Montegallo through the road that links the Marche side of the Sibillini Mountains to the Umbria side). Follow the metalled road that from the Pass leads to the Alpine's shelter (1560 m.)placed on a pick on the left. After 300 m. leave the metalled road and take a track that cuts across the south-east side of the Mount Forciglietta (1642 m.). With easy up-and-downs you walk a long distance along the edge of the secular beech wood of the Macchia Cavaliera. The track that runs westwards across flat meadows and past the hill Le Saliere(named after the shepards'custom to put sea-salt on top of the out-croppingrocks) gets to the Cittą di Ascoli shelter at Colle Cese. You'll find 10 signs scattered along the track to help you to find the way.
