The ghost of the Chieftain of the
Fortress wanders restless inside the fortress.In 1432 he took a
bribe from Giosia da Acquaviva under the promise that the people
living there would be spared as his only aim was to regain
possess of the family castle. But Giosia did not keep his promise
and once inside the fortress he slaughtered the whole garrison
and the few people living there. The chieftain himself found
death in the extreme attempt to save his family. In winter
nights, among the whistles of the wind and mysterious moanings
his ghost wanders in search of his family, squeezing against the
walls and shaking whoever he meets, as if he wants to bring to
his senses someone who has lost his mind, to question him. 
Still today some old people tell the story
of a ghost who in winter nights slapped and pushed against the
walls of the ancient buildings those unfortunate he came across
with.Then he would reveal him facts and events really occurred.
Someone had to resort to many exorcisms to make these events
stop.
